Information we automatically collect from your use of the Services

What we collect:

  • Non-Identifiable Data
    • When you interact with Skipti through the Services, we receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information.  Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot presently be used to specifically identify you.  Skipti may store such information itself or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by Skipti affiliates, agents or service providers.  The Services may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of visitors to our Site or the number of visitors to each page of our Site.  It is important to note that no Personal Data is available or used in this process.
    • In operating the Services, we may use a technology called “cookies.”  A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences. We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to your needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.  Cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.  You can choose to accept or decline cookies.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.  This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the Services.  Furthermore, while you may disable the usage of cookies through your browser settings, the Site currently does not respond to a “Do Not Track” signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application due to lack of standardization regarding how that signal should be interpreted.
  • Usage Information
    • We collect information about your interactions with the Site such as the pages or content you view, your searches for rental items, rentals you have made, and other activity on the Site.
  • Aggregated Personal Data
    • In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of the Services, Skipti often conducts research on its customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other information provided to us.  This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and Skipti may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents and business partners.  This aggregate information does not identify you personally.  Skipti may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our Services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
  • Location Information
    • Our Service may collect and use your location information (for example, by using the GPS on your mobile device) to provide certain functionality of our Services such as facilitating searches in your geolocation.  If you choose to enable our location features, your location information will not be publicly displayed within the Services.  Other users cannot see this information about you.  We may also use your location information in an aggregate way, as described above in the “Aggregated Personal Data” section.
  • Log Data and Device Information
    • We automatically collect log data and device information when you access and use the Services, even if you have not created Skipti account or logged in. That information includes without limitation details about your use of the Services, IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information, device information, device event information, unique identifiers, crash data, cookie data, and the pages you interact with before or after using the Services.

Information we collect from third parties

What we collect:

  • Information from hired-party service providers
    • We may allow third party service providers to use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites following your use of the Services.  For example, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).  Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyze how users use the Site and enhance your experience when you use the Service.  For more information on how Google uses this data, go to www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/
  • Your reviews
    • If another user of the Service writes a review of you, the review will be posted on your public profile with your consent.
  • Information from other sources
    • In compliance with applicable law, we may receive additional information about you from third parties and Related Companies (defined below). This information may include without limitation demographic or fraud detection information. We may combine this information with existing information we have about you.
